Hmmmm... so the one that the post was about was oblivious to it all, living her fabulous new life and all that BS ya know, and when informed about the post she went ballistic, for whatever reason her drug addled brain decided was a good reason to do that, and the one that the post had nothing to do with went out of her way to text me to inform me why she de-friended me, and until she told me, I didn't even know she had deleted me from her Friends list! LOL Yeah, it's been that kind of week. Strange events counter balanced by fascinating odd happenings. I'm oblivious to it all due to more important occupancies, both mental and physical. I've been so busy I haven't even watched the season premier of Sons Of Anarchy yet! hahaha Don't tell me anything about it - I'm planning on watching it next Weds. when I might have the time. ;-) Yeah, there's a whole bunch of cool stuff going on this weekend, including Adam Ant tonight, the Civilians and the Seriouslys @ the Double Clown, that Reggae thing with Yellowman @ the Hard Rock, Scarlett @ the Underworld, the Surrounded By Thieves EP release party @ Favorite's on Sat., and a few other things I'm forgetting in my old age. I think Neon Reverb is going on still but who gives 2 shits about that lame ass hipster dooooshbag beard core crap, right? Nobody! That's right! ha ha ha Listen, the weather is gorgeous, the vibes everywhere are Positive, Bohemian Summer is crashing to an end and I'm missing my girl something fierce but that's OK, because I'm having FUN! Hope you are too. Get off your ass and do something ya gits, like come out to the American Buckshot gig @ Favorite's tonight. It's gonna be interesting, to say the least and definitely, definitely FUN! I promise! :-)

Oh what a weekend! My liver hurts - literally! ha ha ha It was nice waking up and making coffee for someone in the morning again. Haven't done it in a long time. It felt good. :-) And oh, silly Facebook drama, you're not getting anywhere near me! I really don't care what you say or do, and you don't have to de-friend me before you talk shit about me. That's just chickenshit. If you say it, mean it, and have the balls to stand behind it. Losers. Ha ha ha ha I was having waaaayyyy too much fun this weekend to let anything bother me. Jane's Addiction on Fri., which was fucking HORRIBLE! Man that band just needs to give it up. That place sucks as a venue too. The sound was good, nice layout to see bands at, but it's sterile and promotes douchebaggery. At least it did on Fri. anyways. Phooey. And I didn't make it out to any of the PRIDE celebrations either, which sucked, because it sure did look like fun. Probably too much fun for a bitter, old homophobic poseur like myself though. ;-) Sat. I played a gig @ the Bikini Bar that was pretty fucking fun. Every band that played was a wee bit drunk and definitely a little bit off their game, but sometimes that just makes things more interesting, like it did on Sat. The Dirty Panties probably played the best set of all the bands, which I guess is expected because they're a 'signed' band... LOL Plus I only say that because I can't say that our set kicked the most ass, even though it did. ;-) Yeah, The People's Whiskey played a pretty rollicking set, taking a while to get locked into their groove and flubbing up on of my favorite songs by them (Pills) but making up for it with the new songs they played, which sounded amazing-incredible. Lose that gawd awful La Bamba intro to that one new song though... heh heh And Surrounded By Thieves powered through their set without lead guitar slinger Andy because he was off becoming a first time Daddy to a beautiful baby boy! Awwwwwww!! Congratulations Sir! I hope that your first child, be a masculine child. ;-) hahaha Again, it was a great night that, for me, didn't end until the damn sun was up and irritating me from high in the sky. Nice. Last nights gig @ the Bunkhouse was interesting, to say the least. The Hard Pipe Hitters didn't play, which was a bit of a bummer because I was looking forward to seeing those dudes play, and the Quitters played without their bass player because apparently he's a sissy girly man who would rather do stuff with his girlfriend than play a gig with his friends. Da Gheyz. Phooey. It was cool that they played without him though. That band is so good it's nauseating, even without a bass player. The Vermin were spot on though, reaching a bit back into the vaults and playing some stuff that even they admitted they hadn't played in a while, like that song Pick A Sin. Good call on that one. I missed a lot of their set because I was out side partaking in illegal substances with a lot of my Friends who were in attendance. This Jack Grisham's Lost Soul thing brought out a lot of Local Scenesters, Hipsters and Weirdos, including some chick with a tattooed glow in the dark vagina that she took great pleasure in showing anyone and everyone that wanted to see it. At one point she was using her iPhone to videotape the band playing Code Blue and her vagina thrusting in time to the music. Weird. And yeah, Jack Grisham's Lost Soul played quite a few tasty T.S.O.L. tidbits, and even had Mike Roche come up and play World War III with them, which just made the crowd go nuts. The turnout wasn't great, which didn't make Pulsar happy unfortunately, but the intimate gathering was cool. Jack told lots of funny stories about stuff like jacking off into socks in the tour van and the Do's and Do Not's of Forced Analingus. Go Deep. Go Hard. Go Fast. His words not mine... LOL If it wasn't for the T.S.O.L. stuff they played, I would of been bored to tears. I would of rather of heard a bit more obscure stuff like Fuck You Tough Guy And Sodomy as opposed to Dance With Me or Code Blue, which Jack related to Sammy Davis Jr. singing Candyman. Yeah, Code Blue is Jack Grisham's Candyman. Yeah, again, just a fucking fun night out with a bunch of cool peeps, including April, who drove all the way in from AZ. just to see the gig! :-) OK, it's Monday, and Grosse Pointe Blank is about to begin, followed by Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels. Sounds like a good day to just sit on the couch and relax before tonight's Raiders game. It's gonna be a slaughter. Party at Casa de Amoroso for those in the know. See ya there!
I now have exactly 13 Fat Dukes Of Fuck MP3's in my iTunes collection. I don't know what I've done to deserve such an Honor, but somehow this musical gift was bestowed upon me via snail mail, and I cannot stress strongly enough how grateful I am to have them. Thank you very much Brent. :-) A Review of the new album, Honey From The Lips Of An Angel, will be forthcoming post haste. All I can say for right now is just Wowsers and leave it at that. Which brings me to this: I was talking with a Friend of mine about this and that and he asked me about the website, specifically about why I hadn't added anything new to the website for like months, and I was like, "What are you talking about? I'm adding new stuff to it all the time!" Well, I never see it., He said, and since I did drop the ball with a Karl Bakla Show Review that Mr. Bakla sent in to the website a while back (it ended up in the spam folder for some reason), I thought I'd list some, if not all of the stuff I've been adding to the website as of late. If I forget something or double post sorry. Just click on the hyperlink to check it out, yada yada yada. Show Review by Karl Bakla for the Dear Landlord / Murderburgers / TheCore gig @ the Box Office. Show Review of the Peter Murphy gig @ the LVCS. Music Review of Madness - Forever Young: The Ska Collection CD. Music Review of If I Die Today - Postcards From The Abyss CD. Music Review of the Vegas Sounds Summer Sampler compilation. Music Review of Killing Joke - MMXII CD. Pictures of King Tuff @ the Beauty Bar. Pictures of Audacity @ the Beauty Bar. Pictures of Peter Murphy @ the LVCS. Pictures of I.D.F.I. @ the Double Clown, taken by All Hail Bob! Pictures of Signals Midwest @ the Bikini Bar. Pictures of Deadhand @ the Bikini Bar. Not to mention all the Show Reviews from 2003 that I re-added to the website (click here to read them) and the Pictures from 2003 that I also re-added (click here to check those out) so yeah, I do stuff motherfucker! LOL Add in all the band practicing and playing gigs and drinking and drugging and whoring and taco plate eating I try to squeeze into all my precious time, not to mention all the Bohemian Summer shenanigans with 'Her', well, I think I'm doing a pretty good job with things! :-) I mean, I'm not like the other 'Punk' website here in town, with a plethora of lackeys to do all the grunt work for free tickets to HOB Beardcore shows, nope! It's just me myself and I, both Sherpa and Drug Mule, a Title which, I just know, Roxie stole from me! LOL In her new band Crazy Chief she refers to herself as Drug Mule. ;-) hahaha Anyways, I'm done ranting - let's hit the ground running this weekend! It's Pride Week, so I will see you at Drink & Drag tonight after the parade downtown. I'll be the one with the mischievous grin in the conga line. <3 Art Art Art!! It's First Friday mañana, which means there's lots to do mucking about in the Art scene here in Vegas, what there is of it anyways. I've got 2 near and dear Friends having exhibits of their Art going on tomorrow, and I wanna bring them both to your attention. First off there's Raf, ex-American Buckshot guitarist and gnar skateboard shredder and doggy babysitter extraordinaire, putting some of his artwork up as part of that Bring The Noise group show going on @ 916 Studios, so stop by there if you're in the area, and then there's another ex-band mate of mine, Dan, currently the Vokillist of Unfair Fight and one of the nicest dudes I've ever met, he's having an exhibit at the Josephine Skaught hair salon, right next to the Artifice, so again, if you're in the area for First Friday festivities, stop by and check out their incredible artwork. They're both some talented motherfuckers and worthy of all your support. Go. Also, Congratulations to mi compadres Jamie Jackson and Rob Ruckus for signing some big to do record contracts this week. I'm not sure just what that entails nowadays but still, it's a big deal and again, Congrats to both of ya old bastards! Let the weekly stipends and apartments in LES NYC be in your immediate future like they were after I signed my first record contract way, Way, WAAAAY back in the daze! LOL And about the scuttlebutt that arose because of these signings, I say to you both to ignore it and let the Haters hate. Pettiness and Jealousy is a motherfucker, believe me, I know. ;-) Let the shit talkers say whatever, because they'll never say it to your face and besides, it's only the Internet, which has nothing to do with the real world, right? Right! Another thing I forgot to mention in passing is this very notable and worthy gig for an excellent cause going down this Saturday, so if you're not at the gig @ the Bikini Bar you should definitely be in attendance at this little get together going down at the Cheyenne Saloon. Yeah, yeah, I know... let it go. It's a benefit show for a little girls fight against cancer, because fighting cancer is majorly expensive, and the show is appropriately named 'Fuck Cancer'. That sentiment is both near and dear to my heart, and something I can definitely get behind 100%. Those of you who know me personally know why that is. But anyways, there's some good people involved with supporting this, and there's some good bands playing too, like Rule Of Thumb, Last Rites, Roid Rage and a few other bands I know nothing about, and all these bands are playing to help out with a little girls fight against cancer, so if you're in the area you should stop by and support a good cause and check out some cool bands. Who knows, you may even make a friend while you're there, or have an friend of your ex monitoring your every move and texting all the juicy details to your ex... heh heh heh Gawd I love this city. :-) This is definitely going to be one of those, 'too much to say so I'm saying nothing' posts. My trip to California was extraordinary. The Pow Wow was even better than I could of imagined, and the Spiritual cleansing I was searching for was definitely found on top of the hill in a grove of tall oak trees. I went to the secret waterfall too, which was amazing. I haven't been there in years, and I was definitely having some major deja-vu moments there, I can tell ya! I also did some sightseeing, shopping, took care of some medical stuff, blah blah blah I got a bit of great news though, which was a long time coming, but that was counterbalanced by 3 chunks of bad news that I didn't see coming. I can't catch a break I swear. LOL Whatever. Just another obstacle to overcome in my quest for world domination. I need a Brain though. Being Pinky by yourself is no fun. I just commented on this Facebook phenomenon where I logged on today after being away for a while and on Sept. 5th, 2012, 4 of my friends went from 'being in a relationship' to 'single', and one idiot went from being 'single' to 'being in a relationship'. What? Did you guys all get together and decide to do this all at once, or is it a weird coincidence? ha ha ha Relationship Status Day Holocaust!! OUCH!! Yayo Taco, the Rattus gig, booooooooooooooo. Yeah, I heard all about it. So is this the end of that venerable All Ages joint? I hope not. I didn't support every gig that went on there, but I definitely support their right to throw them. And plus, if Yayo Taco stays closed, then where are the bands gonna play? Yeah exactly. I was gonna go by there this afternoon to see if it really was closed or not, but I blew it off, meaning I got too buzzed and forgot. I got too much stuff to do anyways. So yeah, I'm back, bigger and better than ever, and ready to get shit done. Starting with the gig going down this Sat. @ the Bikini Bar. A shitload (meaning 4) Local bands all playing in the same place on a Saturday night - Dirty Panties, Surrounded By Thieves, The People's Whiskey and me and the boys in Aluminum Falcon. That's a pretty good representation of what the Local scene has to offer. You just know that shenanigans will ensue. You know that some shit is going to be talked, and you know that some asses will be rocked, so stop on by, if you're not too broke from the Jane's Addiction gig @ the Cosmo the night before that is. The gig at the Bikini Bar should be a very interesting time, that's for sure. Oh shit - I forgot about that Jack Grisham's Lost Soul thing going on Sunday @ the Bunkhouse. Palo from S.F.T., 1/2 Ast and a bunch more Local bands was just asking me what was going on Downtown this weekend and this gig popped into my head. I don't know what it's all about, and I don't know why it's on a Sunday but it should be interesting nevertheless, especially the turnout. Who comes out on a Sunday night to hear T.S.O.L. and Joykiller songs? LOL Me and hopefully a few others! Will we hear some Cathedral Of Tears or Tender Fury songs as well? hahaha Not bloody likely, but still, it should be fun. What else are ya gonna do on a Sunday? Stay home and watch Simpsons and Family Guy? Fuck that. That's what DVR was invented for, although, that Robot Chicken DC Comics Special airing Sunday looks funny as fuck, but I digress. The Vermin, Quitters and Hard Pipe Hitters are opening and again, this is a pretty good representation of some great Local bands. It's gonna be fun - hopefully no Drama, OK? ;-) I'm gonna be there, and you should be there too. Even you. Yeah you, the one with no school the next day and the 18 year old boyfriend... ha ha ha If it's not on Facebook then it's not True Yaaaahhh... ha ha ha |
